Taipei a Day

I was so excited about the day and my class would visit a famous company in Taipei. It turned out to be a marketing awarding ceremony, and we just ate a lot of free food which were sponsored by Taiwanese government instead of visiting a real company. However, I still had a lot of fun in Taipei.

Last week, every one in my class who took marketing course by marketing department would receive text messages from the instructor. As a business major student, I unhesitantly attended this program that my friends and I ‘would visit a famous business’ on Tuesday.

I had four courses on Tuesday, but I still chose to visit the company. After we arrived in Taipei, I saw a huge building next to Tai-Da hospital. As we were approaching the building, it was not a company but an awarding ceremony. At that moment, I was speechless with the ‘lie’ because I chose to visit a company instead of attending my required courses. The regretting feeling soon subsided because my friends and I decided to have fun in Taipei since we were in Taipei.

In the process of the awarding ceremony, there was a lot of fancy food on tables thought the awarding ceremony wasn’t interesting at all. To get rid of boredom, my friends and I had a great tea time together. Besides, there were also some shows such as tap dance and free dance during the awarding ceremony. With delicious food and great shows, it was worth visiting ‘this comany’.

Furthermore, we chose to stay in Taipei instead of going back to Taichung with the bus so that we could have more fun. Take myself more example, I have not never been to Taiwan University and the famous Shi-Da night market. Everything was cheap at the Shi-Da night market. I dared to say that I have never seen so cheap stuffs until I was there. Hence, I bought a pair of earrings and a bracelet to give my sweetie.

Finally, I visited a friend in Taipei who was very good with me in junior high. His family bought a new house in Taipei, and I was so excited to visit his new home. Beyond my expectation, it was so luxurious in his home with a lot of antiques and a nice family. We talked a lot and didn’t sleep until 3 am.

I think that I am a spontaneous. I didn’t expect that I would stay in Taipei for a night, but I did it and had a lot of fun.

Thank you

The whether is getting colder and colder now, and the Thanksgiving is also coming soon. I have a special feeling with it this year.

I was a coward and shy boy, but something made a difference on me. I really want to express my attitude of gratitude to my teachers, and friends, and family. I didn’t intend to study for my master’s degree at the beginning, but I want to know how potential I am after I discussed with one of my business professor. I indeed want to have a promising job which would give me a sense of achievement and make a difference to the world.

I met some foreign students since last year. They came to Taiwan this country all the way happily. I was curious about how they would it because they needed to rely on themselves abroad. It is not worth doing it. However, I was influenced by their characteristics. Though they needed to face a lot of challenges, they can really learn a lot during the exchange year. Besides, it is a adventurous journey with a lot of treasuries.

I make up my mind to become an exchange student as well. Beside, my parents also support my plan after I discussed with them. Though I am still working on it, I believe my dream will come dream. In the process, I needed to say thank you for your helps, especially Mrs. Shi and Miss Liu. Mrs. Shi who is my current English teach helps me revise my application stuffs again and again such as autobiography and study plan. Miss Liu who is my business teach help me to find the opportunity of internships. Whether it will succeed or not, I indeed appreciate all the hard work you did for me. Thanks again.

Thanksgiving day, it is really a good holiday for me to reflect myself. Finally, no matter who you are, I really appreciate you who inspires or help me. I can be who I am without you.

I wrote an autobiography this week, and can anyone helps me to give me some advice on the content

AUTOBIOGRAPHY

My name is Yi-ting Wu (吳怡霆). I was born in Housing-Chu County in 1987. I am currently a junior studying in the Department of Business Administration at National Chung-Hsing University. Except for my parents, I have an older brother and an older sister in my family. My father used to work as a supervisor in a glass factory, but he is retired now due to poor health. My mother is a housewife. My brother is an operator in the electronics company, and my sister is a senior high school English teacher in Housing Chu.
I have passion for everything that I have not tried before, so I participate in a lot of extracurricular activities to learn something new. For example, when I studied in senior high school, I joined the harmonica club. Our club represented the school to take part in the national competition and we got the first prize. After entering Chung-Hsing University, I joined the Ballroom Dancing Club in order to stay in shape. I make a lot of friends from different departments, which makes my life colorful and exciting. I am an outgoing person and I like to help people solve their problems. I guess that is why I always make genuine friends and feel very happy about my life.

Furthermore, as for mentioning community involvement, I am also a reserved volunteer of oversea volunteers program held by international cooperative and development foundation (ICDF). At the same time, I am also a volunteer of foreigner exchange students, assisting newly arrived foreign students in adjusting to life in Taiwan.

Learning English is not easy, especially for a novice. I used to be frustrated in English in junior high school. However, things changed when my senor high school teacher asked our class to read Studio Classroom magazine and Advanced magazine. I was very interested in and deeply inspired by the discussion of the teachers on air. It not only enhanced my English ability but also provided me with a variety of perspectives toward the world. With the passion for learning, I am also starting to learn German this semester.

What really inspired me a lot to become an exchange student is that I made some friends who were exchanging students in Taiwan last year. After getting along with them, I am convinced that if I can become an exchange student, then I will not only become more independent but also have the broader perspective of the world. Besides, on the summer vacation in 2007, I was competent enough to be chosen as a consultant assisting 90 foreign students from 25 different countries in understanding the Taiwanese fascinations and interpreting for them while we were sightseeing. Hence, I had much stronger desire to make up my mind to become an exchange student next year after the experience of being an consultant.

Though my parents didn’t support my idea at the beginning, I was still trying to make them understand how influential the exchange program will be in my life. After I discussed with my parents one after another, they finally respect my decision and support my plan of being an exchange student without hesitation.

In the future, I want to work in a company which enables me to interact with a lot of different people from different countries. In order to represent my company, I need to improve my communication ability in English. To fulfill my dream, I am motivated to study English continually.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all the teachers and people I met in my life. With your assistance and encouragement, I have more confidence to learn everything interestedly. Thanks for being such great companions in my life as a love-learning student.
