Summary: Should death penalty be abolished?

In this article, Penalty of death, from on-line website, Henry Ford first reports that people will not repeat their crimes and government can save more budgets under the policy of capital punishment. Second, he explains the advantage of deterrence. Third, Ford quotes a saying from Old Testament, ”an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” Third, he makes readers think about the definition of “justice.” Sentencing murderer to death is so-called justice? Fourth, what if you are the executors of ending the murderers’ lives? Where’s your compassion and who should be responsible for executing them? Fifth, Ford brings pay-back issue up so that crimes are divided into two kinds, reversible crimes and non-reversible crimes, which cause different damages to victims. Finally, he demonstrates that life imprisonment is not expensive at all according to the illustration and he is for abolishing the capital punishment.

I am for abolishing the capital punishment. On the one hand, if they are charged with life sentence, they will have more time involving themselves into community services. Gradually, their value of exiting is not wasting money at all. Instead, they are able to repent of their sins and atone for their actions in the past. On the other hand, people who are supposed to execute murderers don’t need to be smitten by their conscience. After all, humans are born with compassion. In sum, murderers have relationships and interaction with their family and relative. They are like fetus who don’t have any perceptions toward this world. Hence, it’s not proper to charge them with death penalty. And there is some other better way, life imprisonment.
